Cuyamaca Outdoor School:
Connecting Kids to Science and Nature Since 1946

For eight decades, San Diego County Office of Education's Cuyamaca Outdoor School has provided hands-on environmental education to over one million students, making it California’s longest-running and most impactful outdoor school program.

Each year, 14,000 students, teachers, and chaperones from across San Diego County, representing public, charter, and home schools, participate in multi-day programs in the mountains of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.
